Craig Ferguson Addiction Video

Craig Ferguson shares his experience in this video on addiction. His addictive behavior was consuming alcohol.

At this time of year, many people feel particularly lonely and hopeless. It was Christmas morning many years ago when Craig planned to commit suicide. With his typical self-deprecating humor, he tells the story of how he “forgot” his suicide plan and continued his bender for several more months before hitting bottom and winding up in rehab.

One of the many insights in this few minute video is his realization that he was self-medicating with alcohol and that it actually saved his life. Had he not been able to turn to alcohol, he might not have survived.

Addiction Video of Craig Ferguson’s Story

I believe that getting sober is just the first step towards recovery from addiction. As Craig points out, the real problem was what was going on in his head. Once you’re thinking a bit more clearly, you have perspective that was simply not available prior to having some sobriety.

This is an inspiring addiction video that will also make you laugh. And, laughter is good medicine.
